Following a disappointing start to the season, the executive board of Indiana's ACHA D2 hockey club relieved Clint Hagmaier of his head coaching responsibilities and selected former player Joseph Siers as Interim Head Coach.

Goaltender and team Vice-President Cameron McNamara stated philisophical differences as the reason behind the switch.  "The executive board’s goal for this team is to compete for a regional and national championship within the next two years," stated McNamara.  "We just saw the team going in a different direction."

Hagmaier was in his second season guiding the Hoosiers, having been selected as head coach prior to the 2016-17 campaign.  He led the club to a 7-20 record last year, and was excited about the potential and prospects heading into this season.  "It's all a part of the game," Hagmaier said when asked about the decision.  "Hiring and firing is all part of the business."

Siers skated for the Hoosiers team from 2012-13 through last season, accumulating 32 goals and 84 points in 106 games.  He also served as an Assistant Captain and was a favorite to many of the Hoosier faithful.
