NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame hockey team will close out its eight-game homestand with a Thursday-Friday series against former CCHA foe Omaha at the Compton Family Ice Arena.
A member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), Omaha is 2-1-1 on the season, including a series split at UMass Lowell (Oct. 13-14) as well as a win and a tie against Arizona State (Oct. 20-21).
The Irish (3-2-1, 0-0-0 B1G) are coming off a series split against Sacred Heart, including a 3-1 win in game two (Oct. 20).

Former CCHA foes, Omaha and Notre Dame will be meeting for the 33rd and 34th times in program history and for the first set of games at the Compton Family Ice Arena.
The teams last played on Oct. 13, 2012 when the Irish posted a 3-2 win over the Mavericks to claim the 2012 Ice Breaker Tournament Championship at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Goaltender Steven Summerhays made 28 saves in that win over Omaha, while Peter Schneider, Anders Lee and Thomas DiPauli scored the Notre Dame goals.
The other 31 meetings in series history came from 1999-2010 as part of CCHA play.
The Irish are 9-1-1 in their last 11 games versus the Mavericks.
