NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame hockey team has been ranked eighth in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine preseason polls, which were released on Monday (Sept. 25).
Notre Dame is coming off a run to the 2017 Frozen Four, the program's third Frozen Four appearance in the previous 10 seasons. The Irish are one of five Big Ten teams ranked in the preseason polls, joining Minnesota (4/3), Penn State (10/10), Wisconsin (12/t11) and Ohio State (19/RV).
Notre Dame opens the 2017-18 season on Sunday, Oct. 1 with a home exhibition game at 5:05 p.m. against the USNTDP. To purchase tickets, click here.
The Fighting Irish will be embarking on their first season of play as an affiliate member of the Big Ten. Led by senior captain Jake Evans, as well as alternate captains Jordan Gross, Andrew Oglevie and Luke Ripley, Notre Dame begins the regular season the following weekend against Alabama Huntsville (Oct. 6-7).
