Junior

Overview

Junior hockey is ice hockey competition generally for players between 16 and 21 years of age.  Junior hockey leagues in the United States and Canada are considered amateur (with some exceptions) and operate within regions of each country.  In the United States, the top level is Tier I, represented by the United States Hockey League. Tier II is represented by the North American Hockey League. There are several Tier III leagues throughout the country. A limited number of teams in the Canadian major junior leagues are also based in the United States.

Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts

The Evansville Junior Thunderbolts are a member of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL),  a league for student-athletes from the age of 16 to 20  who are aspiring to play at a higher level.  In the first year as a club, the Junior Thunderbolts produced three NA3HL Top-Prospects and one NCAA college commitment. With a professional, driven coaching staff and a top-notch facility, the Evansville Junior Thunderbolts have the tools to make everyone a better hockey player.

Illiana Blackbirds

The Illiana Blackbirds are members of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL).  Founded in 2012, the USPHL has 55 organizations from across the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.  The Premier Division is the top Tier of the USPHL League structure. The Elite and USP3HL Divisions are both USA Hockey Tier III Junior Leagues. The 18U, 16U, and 16U Development Divisions are Tier I youth hockey divisions.
